Christopher E. Sanspree
Christopher E. Sanspree was a shareholder in one of the largest plaintiffs’ firms in the nation and concentrated his practice entirely on representing individuals against large corporations and insurance companies before starting his own law firm in 2007. Mr. Sanspree continues to dedicate his entire practice to helping individuals and companies obtain justice through compensation for their losses. Mr. Sanspree received his B.A. from Auburn University in 1995, his J.D. from Cumberland School of Law of Samford University in 1999, and received his M.S. in Environmental Science from Samford University in 1999 as well.
Mr. Sanspree’s great-grandfather started a tradition over 100 years ago when he graduated from Cumberland School of Law and began practicing law in Laurel, Mississippi, back in 1912. Mr. Sanspree’s father obtained his law degree in 1980, and Mr. Sanspree’s brother obtained his in 2024.
Mr. Sanspree has been involved with numerous cases against individuals, financial institutions and insurance companies that have resulted in tens of millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements. Chris received a $2.9 million verdict in securities fraud case in 2004, which remains the largest verdict in Henry County, Alabama history. Chris was also co-lead counsel on a consumer fraud case in Escambia County, Alabama where a jury returned a $500,000 verdict against Alfa Insurance Co., which remains the largest consumer fraud verdict in Escambia County, Alabama history.
Chris is a member of the million dollar advocates forum and the multi-million dollar advocates forum, The Top trial Lawyers in America. Established in 1993, the Million Dollar Advocates Forum (which includes the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum) is one of the most prestigious groups of trial lawyers in the United States. Membership is limited to attorneys who have won million and multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements. There are over 4000 members throughout the country. Fewer than 1% of U.S. lawyers are members.
Catherine Moncus
Catherine Moncus is a highly successful personal injury and wrongful death lawyer with over 26 years of experience representing individuals and their families. Catherine has successfully handled hundreds and hundreds of personal injury cases and successfully settled and/or litigated several million dollar, multi-million dollar cases, including a 3.5 million dollar settlement. Catherine has a true passion for representing individuals and their families. Catherine approaches each case in a compassionate, logical, and considerate manner. Catherine currently serves as Treasurer for the Women’s Section of the Alabama State Bar. Furthermore, Catherine is rated AV Preeminent by the Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating Service. Before becoming a partner at Sanspree & Moncus, LLC, Catherine was a lawyer with Walton Law Firm, P.C. for over 17 years. Before becoming a lawyer at Walton Law Firm in 2007, Catherine was a sole practitioner at Moncus Law Firm in Alexander City, Alabama. Prior to opening her own office in August 2005, Catherine was a partner at Ingram Moncus Law Firm in Alexander City where she was involved in large settlements involving personal injury, wrongful death and/or products liability. She was previously an associate there when the firm was Kenneth Ingram, Jr. & Associates, P.C. before becoming partner. While at the firm, Catherine appeared several times on Law Call on WSFA 12 television in Montgomery speaking on various legal subjects. Her law career began in 1998 at Morris, Haynes, Ingram & Hornsby which also practiced wrongful death, products liability and personal injury.
Catherine grew up in Alexander City, Alabama and continues to live there with her family. Catherine and her husband, Ricky Moncus, have two sons, Austin and Dylan. Austin is a teacher and Varsity Basketball Coach at Stanhope Elmore High School and is married to Jessica Towry Moncus who is a CPA at Jackson Thornton in Montgomery. Dylan graduated from Samford University and is an Assistant Golf Professional at Willow Point Golf and Country Club.

Sean D. Phinney
Sean is a consummate litigator whose skilled and tireless advocacy on behalf of his clients spans a decade. His practice continues with significant emphasis on personal injury, premises liability and insurance claims litigation. A Marine Corps veteran, Sean began his legal career working in a national personal injury law firm fighting all the major insurance companies in auto, trucking accidents and premises liability cases. His net settlements are in excess of $1MM and he has tried numerous injury cases to verdict. He has extensive experience fighting for those who have been injured by the negligence of truck drivers, winning over $400,000 in a case involving a trucker hauling carnival equipment for a national carnival company.
